News — Foodbank Donations Always Needed

In December our shoppers and staff helped to raise more than 3 tonnes of food for Washington Foodbank.

After hearing demand had increased by 69% during 2017, we placed specially designed donation boxes in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Iceland, Poundland, Nationwide, Centre Management, the Leisure Centre as well as M&S and McDonalds.

We have now placed permanent boxes in Sainsbury’s and Asda for food donations all year round to help this local charity who are preventing hunger. They need tinned and dried food in particular tinned meat, fruit, rice and custard. Personal hygiene products and nappies are also welcomed.

Hear more about the project and what the Foodbank needs with these interviews from Sun FM.
