New views at the Galleries
The Galleries re-developments now in their 8th month are continuing to make a big difference to the centre.
Nearing comletion this summer, each week brings a new set of improvements to the centre.
Work has started at the Sainsbury's entrance, creating a larger, modern, glass fronted entrance.
New toilets and baby changing facilities on the upper level are now complete. The new facilities include a spacious baby changing area, male and female toilets and five disabled toilets.
The new staircase at the Ladbrokes entrance is now also complete and shoppers will soon have access to a new staircase at the Lloyds pharmacy entrance as work there has now commenced.
The new double height glass entrances create a new window of natural light and will offer panoramic views across Washington and beyond.
Centre Manager, Juliette Coard is delighted with the improvements, she said; "This is a great investment for the Galleries. As always I would like to thank shoppers for their co-operation as there may be some level of disruption as we continue to carry out improvements to their centre.
All access to the Shopping Centre will be available as usual and work will be carried out at evenings to minimise any disruption."
